Craig Buffkin, the firm’s founder, serves as the managing partner and is actively involved with client engagements and business development. He is the Head of the Healthcare Practice and is actively involved in the firms Digital Practice. Mr. Buffkin has completed search work at the board, executive and senior level both nationally and internationally for a wide range of private, public, venture-backed, and private equity-back companies.
Prior to founding The Buffkin Group, which would later become Buffkin/Baker, Mr. Buffkin was a director in a national technology search firm with 5 offices and over 75 consultants. Before entering the search profession, Mr. Buffkin spent over 3 years as a turnaround specialist and over 10 years in marketing services. As a turnaround specialist, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of ARMS, Inc (a 50/50 joint venture with GE Medical Systems), Executive Vice President of Pioneer Medical, Inc. (a regional medical supplier), and as a consultant to Great American, Inc. (the largest school fundraising company in North America). Prior to his turnaround experience, Mr. Buffkin gained sales and p/l experience as a Regional Manager with The Southwestern Company, a national marketing services conglomerate.
Mr. Buffkin holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He and his wife Heather reside in Nashville, TN with their three children, Caroline, Charlie and Francie. He is an avid golfer and fisherman.
