The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC Greensboro) invites applications and nominations for the position of Head of the Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism (MEHT) and Professor of Marketing in the Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics. The Head should have a clear, strategic vision for further advancing the research and education programs in the Department. The successful candidate should have an outstanding record of research accomplishment, wide national and global visibility, and demonstrated leadership experience in the marketing discipline. The Head serves as the chief spokesperson and advocate for the Department both within and outside of the University, and ensures that the Department serves as a vital resource to industry partners in the state and region.
About the Department
The MEHT Department is a diverse, collaborative, engaged, and productive faculty representing the disciplines of marketing, entrepreneurship, hospitality, and tourism. The Department is additionally responsible for the required Business Communications course taken by all undergraduate students in the Bryan School. Alone and in collaboration with other academic units across the campus, the Department delivers over 100 classes each semester at graduate (MBA) and undergraduate levels.
The Position of Department Head
The School is seeking a dynamic leader who exhibits passion for the convergent disciplines that fuel the success of the Department. Reporting to the Dean of the Bryan School of Business and Economics, the Head of the Department is the chief academic, administrative, and budgetary officer, as well as the primary spokesperson, for the Department. The Department Head should model excellence in teaching and research, while providing visionary and innovative leadership for the faculty, staff, and students within MEHT. The Head will be responsible for providing guidance in defining the Department’s strategic priorities, building a culture of meaningful collaboration and engagement among faculty, staff, and students; recruiting and retaining a diverse and highly qualified student body and faculty; and continuing the current growth of the Department across its undergraduate programs and graduate offerings.
Applicants should possess an earned doctorate and an exemplary record of scholarly achievement, teaching, and service that merits appointment as Professor of Marketing with tenure within the Bryan School.
