With core operations, already in place in North America, South America, the Middle East and Europe, one of Fluence’s main goals is expansion into the vast Chinese market for rural wastewater treatment.
THE POSITION
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee all finances for the company. This person will sit within the holding company and work closely with the President and Board of Directors to oversee management of the company. This person will oversee a team of financial executives based out of White Plains, NY and indirectly oversee the CFO’s of the holding companies located within their subsidiaries based in the USA, Italy, Israel, Argentina and Brazil. This person must be a proactive leader comfortable in articulating the vision for the organization’s financial future while simultaneously dealing with budgetary and operational intricacies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Leader who can work closely with the President of the company to guide the strategy and operations of the company globally
- Experience managing executives both in the corporate office and CFO level dotted line reports that are spread throughout the world
- Intelligent, naturally curious, and desires to learn more about the business, emerging issues, and facets of the industry in order to perform quality analysis
- Take aspects of multiple dimensions and perspectives of the company reflected in the business and bring them together with a quantitative approach
- Understand all components of the financial statements as well as of consolidation
- Knowledge of accounting and/or month-end close experience
- International experience and experience interacting with a board of directors
- Experience in a Public company
- Background in Environmental Services, Power or Oil & Energy
- Project Management experience
- Experience to EPC or construction projects and/or project financing in infrastructure projects in the water or power industries
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve in a senior leadership capacity within the company, this individual will need to possess a broad set of management skills that exceed the financial elements of the CFO’s role
- Along with the VP of FP&A and the Controller: develop structure and analyze monthly reporting and oversee corporate planning and budgeting for the Group’s portfolio companies
- Prepare reporting for the management and stakeholders
- Develop business plans for additional expansion activities
- Analyze M&A targets and potential synergies with existing business
- Prepare financial models for BOT (build, operate, transfer) projects as a basis for bank or project financing
- Work to consistently improve financial processes and technology
- Lead the evaluation, analysis and execution of all finance related projects as well as oversight of the tax and treasury services including the planning and implementation of strategies to mitigate the company’s exposure to fluctuations in foreign currency
- Manage the accounting structure, methods, systems, controls, operating procedures and technical accounting and reporting requirements
- Oversee the implementation and management of organization wide financial planning, procedures, measures, budgeting and forecasting, project-specific financial analysis and general risk analysis
- Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting and analysis, both written and oral, of financial and associated business information to the board of directors and to external, constituencies
