Stuart C. McWhorter
Mr. McWhorter is Co-Founder and President of Brentwood, TN-based Clayton Associates. Founded in 1996, Clayton Associates serves as an investment management company primarily focused on the early stage investment cycle in the healthcare and technology industries. Clayton Associates has managed four venture capital funds, which has invested over $100 million in over 60 operating companies in the Southeast. In addition, Clayton Associates has provided the seed funding to help create such notable companies as Psychiatric Solutions, Iasis Healthcare, OrthoLink Physicians Corporation, Gordian Health Solutions, Medical Reimbursements of America, PharmMD, LifeTrust America, My Office Products, Censis Technology and Harpeth Capital.
Mr. McWhorter is also Chairman and CEO of privately held Medical Reimbursements of America (MRA), a healthcare revenue cycle management company located in Franklin, TN. MRA is the market leader in providing revenue cycle solutions on the most complex motor vehicle and premise injury claims to over 300 hospitals in 38 states.
Prior to Clayton Associates and Medical Reimbursements of America, Mr. McWhorter was part of the founding management team of OrthoLink Physicians Corporation where he served as Vice President of Managed Care and Vice President of Development. Prior to OrthoLink, Mr. McWhorter served in various management positions with Tenet Healthcare-owned Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.
Mr. McWhorter also serves on the board of directors for Censis Technologies, 24/7 Sports, Haven Behavioral Healthcare, Harpeth Capital, and FirstBank of Tennessee. Mr. McWhorter’s civic duties include serving on various boards including: Belmont University, Franklin Road Academy, Blood Water Mission, and Nashville’s Agenda. Mr. McWhorter received his Masters in Health Administration from The University of Alabama-Birmingham and B.S. in Management from Clemson University.
